Before we dive into the requirements of SolidWorks, please note that SolidWorks 2026 no longer supports Windows Server 2019, Microsoft Excel/Word 2016/2019 & SQL Server 2017.
The hardware requirements for SOLIDWORKS depend on the level of usage. The Intel Core Ultra 9 285K is considered as a great CPU for SolidWorks. The latest Intel Core Ultra 7 280K Plus is also a highly recommended CPU. 32GB RAM is the minimum for SolidWorks 2026. Go for either 64GB, 96GB or even 128GB RAM to minimise latency penalty.
As for storage, a good fast Gen5 SSD is highly recommended to minimise opening / saving and rebuilding time wastage.
